Boy Howdy

For those of you who don't know the story: Once upon a time, there was a band named Boy Howdy. Boy Howdy was Jeffrey Steele, Larry Park, Cary Park, and Hugh Wright. A successful club band in LA, they landed a record deal with Curb, and shortly after their debut album was released, Hugh, (Boy Howdy's drummer) suffered a terrible accident - While helping out at the scene of a car accident on the freeway, he was struck by another car. In a coma for weeks, it was unclear as to whether he would ever wake up, much less return to the drums. With a tour lined up to support the record, a hasty audition was set up and Scott got the call to fill in on drums. Below are several videos from that time period. Hugh did eventually, miraculously, make it back to rejoin the band, and the other Howdies asked Scott to stay on as 'utility man' covering piano and acoustic guitar parts from the record. Boy Howdy ultimately disbanded, but not before garnering 3 top ten hits, creating a significant buzz in the country music industry, and expanding the 'box' that is country radio.
